I made a booking to participate in a Korean tea ceremony. Green tea is known for its good health properties and it is a very popular drink in Asia and internationally. We started off by helping our Korean tour guide pick some fresh green tea leaves as he told us how this farm exports green tea to many countries around the world.
I really enjoyed participating in a
Korean tea ceremony and learning about Korean tea etiquette. We were told that here are special ways to hold the tea cup. When the tea is poured
into the cup, the tea cup should be picked up with the right hand while the left
hand should be placed under the cup. Before drinking the tea you should examine
the colour of the tea and smell the fragrance of the tea. Between sips you should hold your cup with both hands at
stomach level. The whole experience of examining the colour, smelling the fragrance
of the tea and discussing the taste reminded me a bit of a wine tasting experience except with tea.
There are shops selling different green tea
products. I tried some green tea ice-cream. I also bought some green tea cookies and green tea chocolates for my co-workers.
There is also a bamboo forest near Boesong and this bamboo forest is another great place to visit. There is a panda theme in this forest and there are many panda statues and a small waterfall.
The experience at Boseong was very relaxing.
If you want to relax and enjoy some green tea then Boseong is a great place to visit!
